Awkward Encounter Between French Hussars and a Dutch Fleet

We can all agree that a battle between the cavalry and the naval fleet can’t be taken seriously. I mean how can horse riders ever reach warships, in the middle of the water, while they are getting bombarded by canons. Well, the French, well known to never do as they’re told, decided to prove everyone wrong in 1795. This confrontation occurred during the french revolution. As a fleet of 14 Dutch ships got stuck in the ice during a brutal winter was ambushed by French Hussars. They, as they now had gained the upper hand, conveniently charged in. As a result of this, they quickly captured the entire fleet, which was unable to properly fight or retreat. This remains the only recorded time in warfare history that a cavalry captured ships in combat. Good job horsies.
